What should I do if my home floods?
Stop the flow of water as soon as possible. IE: burst pipe you can shut off the main water line, or the local line shut off.
Turn off electricity to the flooded portion of your home.
IF the basement is flooded and the electrical box in also located in the basement – contact your power company to turn off power to your home. DO NOT enter your flooded basement if your power shutoff is in the basement.
Do your best to save your possessions from more water damage.
Do your best to remove any excess water if possible. Using towels, buckets, shop vacs, etc.

It’s important to call a water damage professional as soon as possible. The first 48 hours are crucial, as mold can start to grow within that period. The longer the water and moisture sit the worse the damage can become.
